2nd Shift CNC Machinist

Metro Mold & Design, a world class manufacturer and ISO 9001:2000 certified company, is seeking two experienced CNC Machinists:   Monday - Thursday 3:00 pm - 2:00 am and Friday - Sunday 6:00 am - 6:30 pm at our Rogers facility. We are a full service firm offering design, programming, mold building, CNC/high speed machining, and EDM.  For over 35 years, Metro Mold & Design has provided a spotless and controlled work environment with low turnover and career advancement opportunities. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Measure dimensions of finished work-pieces and ensure conformance to specifications
  • Removing and replacing dull cutting tools
  • Mount, install, align and secure tools, fixtures and work pieces on machines
  • Listen to machines during operation in order to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration
  • Adjust machine feeds and speeds to accommodate faulty program
  • Stop machine to remove finished work pieces or change tooling
  • Lift work pieces to machines manually or with hoist
  • Be willing to work overtime as deemed by company
  • Proficient math skills

Requirements:

  • Two year trade skill degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of CNC experience
  • Mold building knowledge a plus

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read blueprints (GD&T)
  • Experience with vertical CNC machining centers
  • Experience using hand tools and measuring equipment to include: indicators, micrometers, calipers, gage blocks, pin gages, bore gages, microscope & CMM
  • Familiarity with MasterCam X
  • Problem  solving and critical thinking to evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Reading comprehension
